We arrange our workflow to suit the job and the client but large or small, they tend to follow a similar pattern.
One ~ The Call
Most jobs start with a telephone call.
We like it if you or your Architect calls us at an early stage as it gives us the opportunity to help you ensure that your project gets off on the right foot from the very beginning.
If your project is not for us, we will tell you and try and suggest someone who may be able to help. We can also recommend architects, planning advisors, surveyors or specialist trades to suit your project.
Two ~ The Quote
Building quotes are generally requested after planning permission (if needed) has been awarded. We need accurate plans and a bill of works to base our estimate on. We will meet you or your Architect and visit the site so that we have a full understanding of your project and so that you can get to know us.
Selecting a contractor is a critical point in a building project. Whilst we try hard to always be competitive, price should not be your only criteria. Please ask us for references for similar jobs we have completed.
Three ~ The Build
We will discuss a start date with you and let you know how long we expect the project to take. We have to order materials and schedule our workforce so an initial payment is always needed to secure the job.
Changes to your original requirements are common. We will discuss these with you and give you a clear estimate of any anticipated additional costs. Payments through the period of the build are staged based on agreed work completed.
Four ~ Handover and aftercare
The job doesn’t end when the build is complete. We provide a full handover and will return to attend to snags which emerge as you start to make use your new building. For all new-build projects, we provide a user pack which includes full details of everything you need to know about your new equipment and building systems. As a local company our future rests on your lasting satisfaction.
